Light At the End of The Tunnel

Have you ever watched a sad movie that you knew would end on a happy note? Knowing that things will get better helps us get through the painful parts. For Christians, the Bible allows us to glimpse the end to help us get through our trials.

On September 11, 2001, the Twin Towers in America were destroyed, killing thousands, the killings in the Middle East, and the devastating sufferings in parts of Africa have made millions ask, “When’s the world going to end?”

Jesus teaches us about the end time. He provides many signs (Matthew 24:5-14) including false Christ and false prophets, worsening wars, natural disasters, many Christians being hated, and some losing their love for God because of the increasing sin. It’s all happening! The end is coming closer. One unexpected day, Jesus will return in full glory and power to end the world as we know it. Those who have rejected him will mourn Matthew 24:30, the Bible says, “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.” But his people will be gathered to him.

We don’t know when it will happen, Revelation 16:15, (“Behold, I am coming like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake, keeping his garments on, that he may not go about naked and be seen exposed!”) but one thing we’re sure of is this: we are closer to the end today than we were yesterday. Wow!
