Lose Me and Let Me Go Laban

In the Bible, the tale of Jacob and Laban teaches us important lessons about family, perseverance, and breaking free from what holds us back.

Jacob journeyed to Haran to find a wife, but his uncle Laban tricked him into marrying Leah instead of Rachel, the woman he loved. To marry Rachel, Jacob had to work hard for Laban for many years.

During his time with Laban, Jacob faced deceit and unfair treatment. Laban changed their agreements multiple times, taking advantage of their family connection.

It’s like when our own family takes advantage of us, making us work extra hard just to get what we were promised. It’s not right, but it happens more often than we’d like to admit.

Sometimes, we feel stuck in life, unable to move forward. Just like Jacob, we may be affected by things from our family’s past, holding us back without even realizing it.

Maybe in your family, there’s a pattern of failed marriages or untimely deaths. These could be signs of a deeper issue that needs addressing, just like Jacob recognized the warning signs with Laban.

Proverbs 27:12 reminds us to be wise and cautious, foreseeing danger and taking precautions. Jacob saw the danger in his situation and took action to protect himself.

There are generational problems that can affect us, like polygamy or other curses passed down through our family lines. These issues may require more than just regular prayers to overcome.

In Matthew 17:21, Jesus tells us that some problems can only be overcome through prayer and fasting. So, let’s pray together tonight, asking for freedom from any Laban in our lives holding us back from our destiny, blessings, and breakthroughs.

May we all find the strength to break free from what holds us back, just like Jacob did. Let us be released and allowed to pursue our true paths with courage and determination.
