Life often feels like a journey through the wilderness, much like the one the Children of the Most High experienced after their exodus from Egypt. They endured immense suffering and cried out in desperation, and their pleas were heard. The Most High sent Moses to lead them out of their bondage. Yet, even after their miraculous release, they faced new challenges and fears, as narrated in Exodus 14.
As they journeyed toward the Promised Land, the sight of the Egyptian soldiers pursuing them filled the Israelites with fear and doubt. In their panic, they questioned Moses, worried that they had been led into the wilderness only to die. But Moses, with steadfast faith, responded powerfully in Exodus 14:13-14: “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”
These words are as relevant today as they were then. We, too, encounter trials that seem insurmountable—tribulations, sickness, unemployment, and various forms of suffering. Like the Children of Israel, we might feel overwhelmed and wonder if deliverance will ever come. However, we are reminded to stand still and witness the salvation of the Most High.
Even as we pray and strive for breakthroughs, the enemy seeks to reclaim what the Most High has given us. In Matthew 12:43-45, Jesus warns us that when an evil spirit leaves a person, it may return with even greater force. This is the nature of our spiritual battles. The devil aims to steal back our joy, health, family, and livelihood. But we must remember the steadfastness of our God, as stated in Numbers 23:19: “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it?”
The assurances given to the Children of Israel are given to us as well. The trials and tribulations we see today—be it sickness, joblessness, or heartache—will be vanquished. The Most High promises to fight for us. We must trust in His timing and His power, holding on to the promise found in Isaiah 60:22: “When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen.”
Take heart and be encouraged. Our Father in heaven remains in the business of mending broken lives and restoring hope. Just as He led the Israelites through the Red Sea and away from their pursuers, He will lead you through your trials and into a place of peace and victory. Stand firm, hold your peace, and witness the salvation that the Lord will accomplish for you today. The Most High is fighting for you, and His promises are sure.
