You May Merely Be “a Piece Of Blank Paper”

You may think that you are able to go out to do some work for the Lord, but you may merely be “a piece of blank paper” with not much of Christ written into you. How much of Christ can others read in your being? This is not merely a matter of speaking or preaching but a matter of being read by others. How much of Christ can be seen or read by others in you? This depends upon how much of Christ has been written into you.

I just love that passage of Scripture. 2 Corinthians 2-3, …2 You yourselves are our letter, inscribed on our hearts, known and read by everyone. 3 It is clear that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. 4 Such confidence before God is ours through Christ.…

As believers, our lives are The Living Letters of Christ. Those few words embody such incredible power.

How often do we think about the fact that every person we encounter can see us, but read Jesus? Meaning, others actually have the ability to see us, but conceptualize Him in us. The Bible says that we were made in The Lord’s image. So, isn’t that exactly what our lives should mirror?

As I was thinking about writing this article and discussing with my brother in-law this morning, I began to think about my own life. The greatest desire on my heart is to make sure that I represent Him well.

Being a Christian means so much more than just assuming the title and attending church on Sundays. When we accept Christ in our hearts as our Lord and Savior, essentially what that means is that we are to carry on His legacy through the power and Presence of His Holy Spirit living on the inside of us.

As I keep on saying, our lives will never be the same again now and Post-COVID. Our definition of the church as a building should literary change and start being the Church that Christ envisaged. Our obsession with buildings and should be our focus but HARVEST. We are to be His light shining His love, grace, and glory in the darkest of places. We are to be the salt of Christ helping those who don’t know Him to taste and see that He is good. (Matthew 5:13-16- “Let Me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You’ve lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage. Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.)

The prayer of my heart for us today is that our lives would truly exemplify The Life of Christ in word and in deed and that we would always be mindful of the fact that our presence in someone’s life could be the deciding factor in whether they come to know the heart of our Savior.

Mother Teresa once said “I’m just a little pencil in the hand of a writing God, Who is sending a love letter to the world.”

Let’s pray, Heavenly Father a beautiful sight of the must be endless wisdom, boundless love and awesome purity. One day we will stand before you and Lord I have absolutely no doubt will be silent with everything about you will transcend anything we could say. Thank you anyone who will take time to read this article. If anyone is running in the opposite direction stop them with your loving hands and turn them around. Lord I ask you for your understanding and wisdom in this time we are living, no one has ever lived in such a time, but Lord we need you, thank you for your son Jesus Christ and for saving us, in Jesus name I pray, Amen. God Bless.

  • A gentle reminder that we are a canvas, a blank canvas that needs painting. The picture we paint can and will be seen by the whole world but the decision of what to paint lies solely on me since the Lord has provided every other thing. And so I reflect! Am I tasteful enough, can my light be seen? Thanks David!
